The Secret Society of the Imaginari

Indulge your imagination in every possible flight. – Jane Austen

Are you a budding engineer, pint-sized entrepreneur, crafter, tinker, or imaginative thinker?

The Wellies are currently seeking young makers to join the Secret Society of the Imaginari.

For 14 weeks, our Imaginari will make, create, explore, innovate, craft, and build. Is this an art class? Well, sort of, but it’s more like an engineering-brainstorm-get messy-use tools-sciencey-paint-draw-experiment kind of club, and imagination is the glue that sticks it all together.

Fine print for adults:

The Secret Society of the Imaginari is a semester-long engagement that takes STEAM to a whole new level in a playful and encouraging environment that fosters creativity through creative reuse of materials. Imaginari members will bring their imagination into the real world realm.

  • Bring designs to life through studying the works of OG Imaginari like Leonard da Vinci. Hooray, History!
  • Learn about and how to use basic maker tools like drills, simple saws, wood burning tools, sewing machines, a 3D printer, and more – all under supervision of course! Hooray, Life Skills!
  • Go beyond the crayon box and experiment with unique reuse materials like wood, metal, fabric, and wire. Hooray, Environmental Science!
  • Explore various maker techniques like bookbinding, building, sewing, collage, and woodworking. Hooray, Art, Engineering, and Math!

Each class will be based on a skill set and theme and each member will wrap up the semester with a portfolio of pieces that will have you saying, “Imagine that!”

(Plus, we’ve made this class 1.5 hours which according to market research is ample time for your Target run.)
