GIVE A GIFT

The Welman Project serves as a FREE resource for the Fort Worth community. We rely on monetary donations to continue our mission to fill a classroom, not a landfill.

Dollars at The Welman Project don’t buy new things. Dollars to The Welman Project are an investment in making the most of the resources already available to support the needs of our educators and students. Your gift goes further because it's not spent just handing out supplies. It's spent working directly with a teacher to match the right free materials to their classroom to make the maximum impact.

The Welman Project is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Your gifts are tax deductible and immensely appreciated. EIN 81-1116926

“Because of The Welman Project, my kindergartners have a classroom filled with creative play! They will fall in love with books, stories, and pretend. They will develop socially, emotionally, and creatively without even knowing it, and they will work harder for their classroom teacher because they'll be motivated to come to school everyday. THANK YOU for all that you do to support teachers.”

VOLUNTEER

We absolutely couldn't function without the support of our incredible volunteers! Seriously, we'd just be curled up in a corner crying about the number of teachers who desperately need supplies while perfectly good stuff piles up in a landfill. Overwhelming, right?! Not if we all work together! Anyone can make our community stronger by giving their time, and we’d love for you to spend that time with us.

We offer plenty of opportunities for all skill and age levels throughout the year. Strap on your party pants (and maybe some work gloves) and join the fun. Karma points guaranteed.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Second Saturday Squad - Monthly - CURRENTLY ON HIATUS DUE TO COVID-19

Want to see what volunteering at Welman is all about? Looking for a give-back activity your whole family can do together? Join us on the second Saturday of every month, 2-4 pm. You'll help us sort supplies, roll fabric, and prep materials. All children are welcome with adult supervision, but since it's a warehouse space, we recommend kids be 5 or older. Click HERE to let us know you're coming!

Our building is not air conditioned or heated, so please dress for the weather! We recommend wearing closed-toed shoes for maximum foot safety, and bringing a reusable water bottle for maximum earth-friendly hydration.

Wellie Crew - Ongoing - CURRENTLY ON HIATUS DUE TO COVID-19

Volunteers help make the warehouse a fun and friendly place for teachers to shop for free materials! Tasks include organizing inventory, testing supplies, making small repairs, and dabbling in creative reuse projects. Every day is a new adventure at Welman HQ!

Regular volunteer hours are currently available every Tuesday, 9 am-12 pm, and other times can be scheduled with us as well. This opportunity is for adults (18+) only, but we'll be launching a program for youth service hours in the future.

Group Work - By Appointment - CURRENTLY ON HIATUS DUE TO COVID-19

Many hands make light work, so we love volunteer groups! While our space is limited, we do have occasional opportunities for groups to help us out with special assignments. Contact Vanessa at vanessa@thewelmanproject.org or 817-809-6389 for more information.

Special Projects and Events - CURRENTLY ON HIATUS DUE TO COVID-19

From the Recycled Art Show in April to our Teacher Tailgate in August, and several community events throughout the year, there’s lots of fun to be had volunteering at Welman! Let us know in the application below if you'd like to be notified about signing up for these opportunities.

To become a regular or special projects volunteer, please submit the application form below.

No application needed for Second Saturday Squad, just sign up HERE!
