First of all, thank you for all you do for the classroom and the community. Because you do so much, we really want to help!

“Free stuff?! Like what?”

 

Our mission is reuse, so while we do receive some donations of new surplus items, the majority of our inventory is used. We have a constantly rotating selection of art materials, office supplies, furniture, decor, building materials, teacher resources, and all sorts of stuff that can be repurposed for STEAM related projects. We also have a collection of event and theatre items available to borrow.

 

Keep in mind that we’re limited by what gets donated to us. We would LOVE to give you all tablets for every kid in your class, but unfortunately we basically never receive donations of new technology. We do often have things like used printers, monitors, and the occasional odd tech item. And we definitely have old electronics that your class can take apart and re-engineer into something awesome!

 

While we may not have exactly what you need right now, we may be able to find it later, or help you figure out something we do have that you can use instead. Let us know about special projects, events or lessons planned. We love to help brainstorm materials!

 

“Do I qualify?”

 

We provide free materials for use at accredited public, nonprofit private, and charter schools, as well as 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations. Any staff member from a qualifying organization is eligible to shop on behalf of that organization. Due to funding limitations, we are unable to give materials to for-profit schools and in-home educators, or to anyone for personal use.

 

“Got it. Now how do I get this stuff?”

 

If you have a specific request, see below. If you need general supplies, or aren’t sure exactly what you’re looking for, the best thing to do is come visit our warehouse. No need to make an individual appointment - just stop by during our open hours! If you’d like to come with a group of 5 or more, please contact vanessa@thewelmanproject.org to schedule a time when we can best serve you.

 

We are currently CLOSED to prepare for back-to-school.

Beginning August 21, our hours are as follows:

 

Employees shopping on behalf of your nonprofit:

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 am - 12 pm

Saturdays, 9 am - 12 pm

 

Educators shopping for your school:

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3 pm - 6 pm

Saturdays, 9 am - 12 pm

 

We also welcome volunteers during these hours! Please let us know if you’re interested in helping out, or have a group (adult or student) looking for service projects.

 

Our building is located at 4201 Trail Lake Drive, 76109, at the back of the First Congregational Church parking lot. The entrance is on Manderly Place.
